Shark bite survivors and experts talk about their experiences

It was a night filled with shark stories — tales of survival, conservation and mitigation -– a gathering to create a dialogue, as summer approaches, about the recent influx of sharks off the Southern California coastline.
The Orange County Register hosted “Shark Stories” at the Aventura Ocean Club in Dana Point Thursday evening, May 24, bringing together for the first time shark survivors Leeanne Ericson, attacked off San Onofre a year ago, and Maria Korcsmaros, who this weekend will mark two years of surviving a shark bite off Newport Beach.
